Fatigue

Fatigue

It started a week ago when we studied the extended forecast and realized we would be in for a challenging week in our church programming leading up to Ash Wednesday.

My morning was interrupted when my wife texted me that she was stuck on Interstate 20, only 10 minutes from our house and 30 minutes from her school where she teaches. For over four hours she didn’t move.

Almost immediately I have flashbacks of fatigue. This has been a challenging year in many, many ways. Now it’s one more thing.

I’ve tried to focus on my mental health this year. I’ve changed routines, read more, and found ways to relax and dream for better days. It’s been mostly good but then something happens and I snap back to this frustrating reality that all is not right.

I realize my life is not so different from others.

So here we are—together. Together waiting for the resurrection of new life. Waiting for things to change and all along running the risk of things being the same.

May God speak to you this season and bring change.
